Increasing the frame rate

The ultimate target for performance optimization is to increase the frame rate. A high frame rate automatically delivers smooth gameplay. However, the developer has to make sure that the frame rate effect is visible in the game in terms of smoothness and effect.

For the current mobile gaming industry, an average FPS of 60 for a 2D game or mid-scaled 3D game is considered high performance. On the other hand, massive 3D games might consider an average FPS of 30-35 as good performance.

High-performing games with higher FPS open a door for further visual effects to improve the user experience. This has a direct impact on monetization.
