As a former head of education at an Academy Award-winning studio, Rhythm & Hues, he was involved in the production of movies such as Life of Pi (2012), 2036 Origin Unknown (2018), and, more recently, Rift, an animated movie made entirely using Unreal Engine by HaZimation. Currently, Hussin runs EFXCO Academy, a creative-based training academy in Malaysia, which offers professional training and certification in graphics and motion design, game development, virtual reality, and visual effects. He is also a certified instructor for Nuke and Unity. Hussin holds a firm conviction that real-time production stands poised as the next major breakthrough in the media and entertainment industry.

Importing rendered image sequences

In this section, we will import all the rendered sequences into DaVinci Resolve to start assembling our final film. Let’s get to it:

  1. Ensure you’re still in Edit mode. Then, in the Master panel on the left of the interface, right-click in the empty space and choose Import Media…:

The preferred method of importing will involve importing the film one shot at a time, simply because, in DaVinci Resolve, we intend to color-correct each shot individually for greater control.

  1. Browse to the folder you created the renders in (e.g, Final_Renders | Shot_01). From there, manually select the first EXR image, press Ctrl + A to select the rest, and click Open.

  1. Once the shot is imported, it will be listed in the Media Pool panel. Using the F2 key, rename the shot according to the renders...
