Setting up Movie Render Queue
As we discussed previously, Movie Render Queue is the solution for rendering image sequences and movies. It is designed to produce high-quality rendered images that can be seamlessly integrated into production pipelines and allow for user customization.
In Unreal Engine 5, Movie Render Queue can produce the Apple QuickTime .mov
video format using the Apple ProRes [10-12bit] plugin, but more importantly, it can also produce image sequences such as .bmp
, .exr
, .jpg
, and .png
. Let’s look more closely at image sequences.
Why should we use image sequences?
Image sequences have an advantage over video file formats for the following reasons:
- Most editing and compositing applications, such as Adobe After Effects, Nuke, and DaVinci Resolve, work better and faster with individual frames as opposed to videos.
