Beyond onboarding – continual learning and development
In today’s modern workplace, it is more important than ever for a Power BI developer to continue learning and developing throughout their career. Power BI emerged as a business intelligence tool in 2015 and has since evolved to become one of the most important members of the Microsoft Power Platform family. At the same time, the organic support for Power BI within the Azure cloud ecosystem is phenomenal, so expecting to limit your learning to the areas we have explained in the previous sections of the book is not sufficient these days. Within the Power BI development role alone, there is a whole new area of Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric that can be learned, and you can move from being a Power BI developer to being an Enterprise level Data Analyst or an Analytics Engineer.
