Implementing an ERP solution, such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018 or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, in a company is not a trivial task. A lot of things have to be taken into account and a lot of things have to be done. That's why a lot of people have to get involved in the project, both in the company implementing Microsoft Dynamics NAV, that is, the partner, and in the company that will use Microsoft Dynamics NAV as their management software, that is, the customer.

Everyone will have a different and well-defined role in the project. In this section, we will try to explain who should get involved in the project and the tasks that they will be performing.

In the partner team, the following roles exist:

Salesperson
Project manager
Business consultant
Analyst

Developer
Implementer

In the customer team, we find the following roles:

Project manager
Key users
End users

Alex Chow has been working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, formerly Navision, since 1999. His customers range from $2 million a year small enterprises to $500 million a year multinational corporations. With a background in implementing all functions and modules inside and outside of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Alex has encountered and resolved the most practical through to the most complex requirements and business rules. He founded AP Commerce, Inc. in 2005, a full-service Dynamics NAV service center. Alex has also written the books Getting Started with Dynamics NAV 2013 Application Development and Implementing Dynamics NAV, Third Edition, both by Packt. He lives in southern California with his wife and two lovely daughters.
