Final Cut Pro quitting unexpectedly

Unexpected quitting is commonly known as a crash, and even though it can be frustrating, you are well protected by the way that an unexpected quit takes place. It is normal for your software to instantly save every action you take so that if there is a crash, all your work is saved, including the action that caused the crash (but not any actions that may have happened immediately after that).

If you are so inclined, you could check what caused the crash, as Final Cut Pro produces a report with the technical details as well as the state of the Mac system at the time. The report can be sent to Apple for their research by selecting Reopen. Be reassured that no personal information is included in the report.
