We have seen all the tools and options needed to edit the UV mapping of the spacecraft. Now, we can define the final layout of the model. Unfold the mesh and make the UV look like the layout shown in the following image:
The faces are spread along the layout, but it will allow individual control over the texture for each face of the model. To connect the faces to each other, we can use the snap tools available in the UV/Image Editor window; they work exactly in the same way like the 3D view. There we will find:
