What is pacing?

As the word suggests, pace concerns the video’s momentum. It’s not just the speed or velocity, but also the tempo – the cumulative effect of multiple edits. Speed, as opposed to pace, is more about quick and slow. Pace is more subtle and can be in the subconscious. as much as it can be physically seen.

I said there are no rules about how to implement pace in a video, but there are some conventions to give you some indications as to how the tempo of pacing can be implemented in your projects. But remember: it’s a craft that you need to develop. It comes with experience and familiarity with the editing process. It can’t be fully taught; it relies on harnessing your creativity.
