Wilhelm Ogterop worked in bigger games studios in the UK as Character Animator and later Lead Animator on several projects. He was also part of ingame real-time cinematics teams, motion capture direction, cleanup, and implementation. Studios he worked for on-site, as well as a contractor, include Raven Software, Deep Silver, Travelers Tales Fusion, Eurocom Entertainment Software, Instinct Games, Entrada Interactive, and Headfirst Productions.

Setting up your project

When you launch UE for the first time, the Unreal Project Browser window will open. This browser lets you choose a template file that will act as the starting point for your project.

Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Since we are making a 3D movie, select the FILM / VIDEO & LIVE EVENTS tab.
  2. Inside that menu, select Blank as the template.
  3. Under the Project Defaults heading, uncheck Starter Content.
  4. Choose a project location and project name – this will be saved on your local hard disk.
  5. Once you have set up your project template, you are ready to start working in UE5. Click on CREATE to close this menu and launch the UE5 Editor.
