Creating new marker sets

If you are not getting the results that you want, or the film director or editor gives you a new, edited movie version that has new cuts, you may need to create a new marker set. Logic Pro has a great option for creating a new marker set in the existing session. A new Marker Set is a marker subtrack that lays beneath an existing marker or marker track.

This can be very useful in many scoring-to-picture situations since the film director will mostly give the film composers new changes or cuts to the movie. As a result, the film composer would need to work with new cuts and new markers. Therefore, a new marker set can be copied and reused to create a new additional marker set.

To create a new marker set, click on the Marker menu in Global Tracks and select New Set…. You can rename an existing or new marker set, for example, Reel 1 version 1, Reel 1 version 2, and so on to help keep track of all the changes when scoring to picture.
