Reviewing music spotting notes
In Chapter 1, we discussed how to create a cue sheet, or a music spotting notes list. Generally, the film director will provide you with the music spotting notes list. If a music spotting notes list is not handed to you by the director, then the director will communicate the cuts, important events, and hit points during the spotting session, and the film composer will need to make notes accordingly. The music spotting notes list is a helpful guide for not only analyzing and identifying specific cuts or events but also finding the most important hit points that will need special attention.
