Interactive visualization of financial data


Financial time series data is random in nature, and any visible patterns in such data depend on many market factors. From the perspective of visualization, it is best to build customized tools to monitor the variables of interest, instead of using the general plotting tools that are available to us. Mathematica provides a set of financial data-plotting tools that are suitable for quantitative analysts and market researchers. These tools require specific knowledge of advanced financial analysis. Instead of covering these in detail, we will focus on solving data visualization case studies according to our needs.

Keeping up with the spirit of the book, which is to learn how to create custom visualization tools in different scenarios, we will now build an interactive visualization tool to monitor a financial time series at different resolutions interactively. The code can be changed very easily to calculate and monitor different variables of interest...
