Ad Hoc Distributed Queries in SQL Server: A feature in SQL Server that allows execution of ad hoc queries using OPENROWSET and OPENDATASOURCE, providing flexibility in data retrieval from various sources.

ADO.NET: A framework in the .NET ecosystem for data access.

AdventureWorksLT: A sample database provided by Microsoft for learning and demonstration purposes.
