Engraving details onto surfaces
Detailing can be tricky, especially when you’re trying to engrave small details across a large area of parts. In this recipe, we will examine the step-by-step method to accurately transcribe details and even carve out a whole cylindrical set of stairs, leading from the center of what was a square block. By the end of this recipe, you will be left with a deeper understanding of how you can use the smooth surface modeling tools to heighten the level of detail in your builds.
How to do it…
We will first insert and rescale a square part to our desired size. Next, we will stack cylinders on top of one another, making the one above 2 studs wider than the one below it.
