In this chapter, we learned how to install OpenCV-Python on various platforms. We discussed how to read, display, and save images. We talked about the importance of various color spaces and how we can convert between multiple color spaces. We learned how to apply geometric transformations to images and understood how to use those transformations to achieve cool geometric effects. We discussed the underlying formulation of transformation matrices and how we can formulate different kinds of transformations based on our needs. We learned how to select control points based on the required geometric transformation. We discussed about projective transformations and learned how to use image warping to achieve any given geometric effect. In the next chapter, we are going to discuss edge detection and image filtering. We can apply a lot of visual effects using image filters, and the underlying formation gives us a lot of freedom to manipulate images in creative ways.
