She is also the CEO of Infinite Retina, which provides research to help companies develop and implement AI, AR, and other new technologies for their businesses. Prior to this, she worked for several years as an equity research analyst and gained extensive experience in evaluating both public and private companies. Cronin has a joint MBA/MA from the University of Southern California and an MS with distinction in management and systems from New York University. She graduated with a BA from the University of Pennsylvania with a major in economics (summa cum laude).

This chapter was a deep dive into AR – its history, current and anticipated technology and limitations, and its significance to the Metaverse.

AR’s role in the Metaverse will be very rich and in many ways more far-reaching than VR’s role since AR allows a person to still be connected to the real world. In this way, many everyday practical tasks could be accomplished using AR, as well as the most fantastical entertainment.

Next up is virtual reality – how it came about, where it’s going, and its particular relevance to the Metaverse.
