Although, defining wireframes and colors as materials is easy, the results aren't very spectacular. For many applications you will want to assign bitmap materials to add detail and interest to your objects. With clever use of images, even simple 3D objects can look far more realistic.

Creating bitmap textures can be done with imaging programs such as Photoshop or Paintshop Pro. It is strongly recommended to edit the bitmaps before using them in Papervision3D, as this can add much more detail and realism to the rendered objects.
A trick to give objects an extra dimension without loss of performance is called baking textures.
