Summary

In this chapter, you learned about different tools and workflows for creating armor, clothing, and accessories, demonstrated on our gladiator model.

First, we focused on using primitive shapes and the ZModeler brush to construct parts of a gladiator’s costume. This way, you created several costume parts in an easy and precise way. Then, we continued the creation process by incorporating DynaMesh, kitbashing, and the IMM Tri Part Curve brush into our workflow. Finally, you learned how to add surface texture, imperfections, and some minor damage to improve the quality and realism of these meshes. You did this by using a combination of brushes and the NoiseMaker tool.

In the next chapter, we will learn how to prepare the gladiator for 3D printing by making it watertight, cutting it into pieces, and keying each piece.
