Deciding the best prototyping approach for your needs

When prototyping, you need to constantly find a balance between realism and speed. On the one hand, you want your prototype to recreate the experience of your final product as much as possible. On the other hand, taking care of all the details requires time, and you will want to validate your ideas as quickly as possible.

The ideal balance between realism and speed will be different for each prototype. The following strategies will help you to find this balance in order to make the most of your prototyping efforts:
