Exploring Quantize, velocity, and note chance in Live 11

First, we are going to correct the timing issues of some of the instruments in our project.

Quantize

If you decide to utilize real-time recording more in your production, you have probably already realized that it comes with certain pros and cons.

One of the pros is that you are able to capture the human feel of playing in terms of timing and velocity, being able to implement natural groove. However, this can be a drawback as well if the timing of your playing is not the greatest, as you could be way too late or early playing the notes, which results in greater timing errors.

These timing errors can be easily fixed by using the Quantize settings.

Quantize allows us to correct timing issues by snapping notes to the grid that are too late or too early (off the grid). This occurs according to our Quantize settings. These settings allow us to fine-tune the amount of quantization that we are looking to apply, as we...
