Understanding numeric data types

Numeric data types can hold integers, which include positive and negative whole numbers. Numeric data types can also contain fixed-point and floating-point numbers, which store fractions of whole numbers. This section walks you through the different numeric data types in MySQL. This section also shows you where Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server numeric data types are different.
