This section examines and quantifies the relationship between two continuous variables. The Plot and Statistics nodes will be discussed over the next few pages. Ideally, we would investigate the relationship between the outcome field and a predictor, however the target field in our dataset is not a continuous variable, therefore we will look at relationships among predictors in the following examples.
Note
Note that it can be extremely important to investigate relationships among predictors so as to avoid problems like multicollinearity (extreme overlap among predictor variables that creates unstable solutions), but also to choose among similar predictors in terms of practicality or cost-effectiveness.
