Changing markers to the SMPTE view position

In the previous section, the markers only reflected the bars and beats position, but now we will change the view to a SMPTE timecode view. The reason why we’re changing the view of the markers in the Marker window is to make sure they match the timecodes of the cuts and hit points in the spotting notes list. We can then visually compare the timecode description of the markers in the window with the spotting notes before locking them to SMPTE.

Select all the markers by using CMD + A, then right-click (or Ctrl + click), and select Event Position and Length as Time from the drop-down menu:

After converting the markers from the bars and beats view into a SMPTE timecode view, now all of the markers’ positions match the timecodes in the spotting notes list.

Logic Pro also displays the marker length by default, as an infinite value of 00:00:00:00. Changing...
