Choosing the right visualization
The biggest problem with data storytelling is that it takes a tremendous amount of time to develop stories. Most Power BI developers spend time pulling data from data sources, cleaning and transforming the data, and developing complex calculations in DAX. That leaves little time for creative thinking and putting storytelling at the heart of their reports. Similarly, most data analysts think that they are not good designers or storytellers, so this area is neglected mainly for all these reasons.
However, the critical thing to remember is that the report or dashboard being created is what the audience sees. The audience does not see how much effort a report developer puts into doing data cleaning or transformation or how complex logic was built using DAX. A poorly designed chart, visual, or report can confuse your audience or even lead them to misinterpret the data. The best visuals and reports are those that enhance the story, not distract from it...
