Summary

Over the course of this chapter, you got an overview of integrating a centralized data catalog on top of your distributed persistent storage layer using AWS Glue Data Catalog or Hive Metastore.

Then, you learned about how you can integrate fine-grained access control using AWS Lake Formation and Apache Ranger. This chapter provided an overview of the integration, its different components, and what some of the steps you should be taking to configure it are.
