Embedding Power BI in your app

Power BI is another fantastic tool that sits in the low-code Power Platform family, allowing us to build interactive visualizations without having to write any code. Effectively, the key selling points for both Power Apps and Power Automate also relate to Power BI.

We have the ability to create visualizations within Power BI, and then use the Power BI tile control that you may have already noticed on the Charts menu, which allows us to display a report directly within our app.

For this functionality to be available, you will require Power BI Pro licenses for both the report creator as well as any users.

A brief intro to Power BI

We will have a very quick walk-through of bringing our data into Power BI and creating a basic report. If you’d like to learn more then you could check out Mastering Microsoft Power BI (2nd ed), by Brett Powell and Greg Deckler, which will enable you to really unlock its full potential.
