Advanced attacks with Armitage

In this recipe, we will now perform an advanced attack with Armitage against a Windows XP machine. We will perform several different functions such as initial exploitation, VNC access, downloading, and viewing files.

Getting started

Let's ensure the following prerequisites:

  • Kali Linux is running, and you are logged in as root
  • Make sure Armitage is running
  • Make sure at a minimum the Windows XP VM is running - feel free to turn on other target hosts as you wish
