Subscriptions

The cost to get a new customer (also known as the acquisition cost) is typically high. Many eCommerce stores only make a minuscule profit on the first transaction because you often spend money attracting that customer with ads, social media, content, tradeshows, and so on.

With acquisition costs being high, a lot of store owners love recurring payments, where customers pay every week, month, or year. That means they may only make a little profit on the first order but the subsequent orders are much more profitable.
