Section 2: Tekton Building Blocks

This section is all about hands-on experience with the Tekton building blocks. Using concrete examples, you will learn everything you need to build powerful and flexible CI/CD systems using Tekton Pipelines.

First, you will start by installing all the necessary tools and configuring your Kubernetes cluster so that it is ready to run your Tekton pipelines. If you already have an environment ready, feel free to skip that chapter.

Once you have a local cluster ready to be used, you will explore the basic concepts that are needed to build your pipelines. Those building blocks are called Tasks and Pipelines.

With the hands-on examples provided so far, you will be ready to explore more advanced features. You will learn how to use shared volumes and how to clean them up. You will also learn how to add conditional statements and authentication to the components that will compose your pipelines.
