V$CONTROLFILE

This lists the names of the control files.

Fields

The most relevant view fields are as follows:

  • STATUS: This is null if the name can be determined, INVALID otherwise

  • NAME: The control filename

  • IS_RECOVERY_DEST_FILE: This indicates whether the control file was created in the fast recovery area (YES) or not (NO)

  • BLOCK_SIZE: The control file block size

  • FILE_SIZE_BLKS: The control file size in blocks
