Chapter 5: Designing a Website using Dynamic Content

You now have an understanding of the website builder and its allocated operations, especially the features block. As the Features block is used to provide details of operations, there is a requirement for other tools to describe the content of the web pages. Therefore, the Odoo website builder has a Dynamic Content block that will help you in defining the required contents of a website, and will be explained in detail in this chapter.

Technical requirements

Although you might be familiar with the website building applications in Odoo, as a beginner in the field you might need an understanding of Odoo and its website builder module. Moreover, a system with Odoo installed or a database will be required to run the platform and design a website using the website builder.

Introducing Dynamic Content blocks

As mentioned in the initial chapters, there are different types of website building blocks in the Odoo website builder and, among these, the Dynamic Content block is considered the third type of available block. While a structure block is used to provide structure to the website and a features block describes the additional features of a company, a Dynamic Content block is used to provide structure to the content, which should be described in the web page.

Furthermore, with various other aspects, such as when receiving an alert or a message to the visitors of a web page, and the other dynamic block comes under the Dynamic Content block classification. You can use these operation blocks for website building and describing the content of a website in an illustrative, as well as an attractive, way.
