• Midjourney account: You’ll need an active account on Midjourney. If you haven’t registered yet, refer back to Chapter 2 for a step-by-step guide.
• Discord installation: Ensure you have Discord installed on your device, as we’ll be working with it alongside Midjourney. Again, the installation guide is available in Chapter 2.
• Payment plans: At the moment Midjourney has no free or trial plan. A Midjourney paid plan is necessary. Please ensure you’ve selected the most suitable plan for your needs.

Blend mode and image prompting

Blend mode and image prompting are two ways to tell Midjourney what to create using images.

Here are a few examples of what you can do with them:

By using special punctuation, specifically curly brackets {}, we can instruct the AI to produce different combinations that we specify. This feature is akin to coding, where specific markers tell the system how to interpret and execute commands.

For instance, /imagine prompt A {woman, man} in a {forest, city} during {day, night} will yield multiple image variations, such as a woman in a forest during the day, a man in the city at night, and so forth.
