Enabling RavenDB logging

RavenDB logs its activity and creates several different log files to help you see what activity is taking place. You may want to backup and remove old log files from time to time and tell RavenDB to start logging to new files. By default, RavenDB log files are located in the ~\Server\Logs folder.

Note

However, you must clean up these files regularly to ensure that the logs do not take up too much disk space.

When using RavenDB in console mode, the server activity is printed out in the command prompt window and you may need to monitor the server activity with more details. RavenDB has extensive support for debug logging, enabling you to figure out exactly what is going on in the server. By default, logging is turned off but you can enable it at any time by creating a file called NLog.config in Raven's base directory.
