The metaverse

The metaverse might sound like something out of a science fiction movie, but it is just another way of connecting and interacting with each other over the internet, in an immersive virtual world thanks to the use of XR devices. Therefore, from a testing perspective, testing of the XR devices, actions, and test types is needed when it comes to sites or applications that allow for such interactions and usage.

We have mentioned some concerns of testing when it comes to social interactions, such as personal space and security. We should work extensively on these concepts when it comes to the metaverse, while kinetic movement and motion sickness will still be important.

Furthermore, some applications for the metaverse require not only the input of how the user is moving physically but also how it looks. For example, there are applications that allow the user to try on clothes virtually, measure objects, or simulate placing them in their homes. These sorts of applications...
