SRE and how it applies to business

SRE is a practice pioneered by Google that implements principles such as automation everywhere, reliability as a core focus, and continuous monitoring in the world of infrastructure. SRE teams adopt many practices similar to DevOps, such as the adoption of automation, testing, and continuous delivery to streamline operations. They collect and analyze data on system health, ensuring that issues are identified before an outage, to maximize uptime. They also design systems from the ground up to be reliable and resilient. This minimizes the impact of outages and can entail the adoption of multi-regional architecture, load balancing traffic, and dynamic scaling of infrastructure across multiple zones based on load. They also focus on and tackle performance issues and improvements so that they have a culture of continuous optimization for their infrastructure.
