Part 2: Understanding the Roots of Date and Time

This part aims to provide you with a detailed description of the roots of date and time modeling originating from the ISO 8601 standard. You will dive into relational databases and integrity related to temporal management, date-value definitions, as well as week management and ordinal date definition by focusing on specific aspects of Oracle Database. In this part, date and time values are initially treated separately by focusing on individual elements and value construction. By introducing periods of time, a discussion about validity interval modeling, unlimited validity, interval periodicity, as well as some enhancements is introduced.
