Summary
In this chapter, we explored the foundational elements that make Kubernetes networking both powerful and flexible. We began with an overview of DNS in Kubernetes, understanding how it enables reliable service discovery within the cluster, allowing Services and Pods to communicate seamlessly. We then examined the different DNS policies available, highlighting how each policy can be tailored to fit various network needs, from simple setups to highly customized configurations. Moving beyond DNS, we introduced CNI plugins, such as Calico, Flannel, and Cilium, and discussed their unique strengths in providing scalable, secure, and adaptable networking options for Kubernetes clusters.
