Achieving Cloud Certifications

Yes! You have completed all the chapters of the book!

After a full exploration of the three clouds of AWS, GCP, and Azure, it’s time for us to integrate our knowledge and skills, which is the goal of Part 4 of the book – achieving cloud certifications and developing a successful cloud career.

First things first – we will explore cloud certifications in this chapter, as outlined here:

  • Reviewing cloud certification roadmaps for AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Developing strategies to crack the cloud certification exams
  • Practicing and analyzing sample questions for some certification exams

Achieving cloud certifications is a very important step of your cloud learning journey, and the process of preparing, taking, and passing the certification exams provides a great opportunity for you to review the contents in the book, integrate them, and comprehend the clouds systematically.

Reviewing the certification roadmaps

Let’s look at the certification map for each of the three clouds.

AWS cloud certifications

The certification roadmap for AWS consists of three levels:

  • At the foundation level is the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification – this is designed for individuals who have a basic understanding of AWS services and want to demonstrate their essential knowledge of the AWS cloud.
  • At the middle level are the AWS Cloud Associate certifications – these include Solutions Architect Associate, Developer Associate, and SysOps Administrator Associate. This level of certification is designed for individuals who have a good understanding of AWS services and want to demonstrate their associate-level knowledge and skills in the AWS cloud in the areas of solution design, application development, and service deployment/management/operations.
  • At the top level are the AWS Cloud Professional certifications – these include Solutions...

Developing cloud certification strategies

The general certification strategy is to divide and conquer. For each exam, have a full understanding of the certification exam scope and requirements, and practice as much as you can. To help you prepare for the certification exams, we have collected some practice questions at different levels for the three clouds, along with an analysis of the questions.

We recommend you follow the following steps to prepare for a cloud certification exam:

  1. Read the official certification exam guides.
  2. Review the chapters in this book that relate to the exam.
  3. Complete the hands-on labs in this book that relate to the exam.
  4. Study the related practice questions in this chapter.

For each cloud, starting from the foundation level, complete the exams, one by one.

Cloud certification exam practice questions

While we cannot cover all the certification exam questions, we have chosen the following certifications:

  • Google Cloud Digital Leader
  • Google Cloud Associate Engineer
  • Google Cloud Professional Security Engineer
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner

  • Microsoft Azure AI Engineer

For each of the preceding certifications, we have listed some practice questions, answers, and analytics. For each question in the following sections, please fully understand what it is asking and, out of all the answers provided, why the right answer is right, and the wrong answers are wrong, and make sure you comprehend the analytics of each question.
