Creating a vertical navigation component

Guiding users through navigational controls is a known technique in almost all interfaces. There are many ways to design them. Examples are application wizards, tabs, and next steps indicators.

Power Apps Studio includes a ready-to-use template screen that uses a tutorial-like approach from the New screen selector:

You can take advantage of this feature to add a short tutorial for your new users.

This recipe will create a vertical navigational component suitable for desktop applications that will serve as a tool to guide your users.

How to do it...

  1. Navigate to the Power Apps maker portal, https://make.powerapps.com, and from the left pane, select Apps and then, on the toolbar, click on New app | Canvas. Select the Tablet layout as this component is more suitable for this form factor.
  2. Go to the Components tab in the Tree view screen of Power Apps Studio and click...
