My inputs to the Simulation Zone are not updating throughout the simulation
This is one of the most common points of confusion when first working with Simulation Zone, and understanding its solution is key to unlocking the zone’s true power. The core of the issue lies in a fundamental misunderstanding of how the Simulation Zone is designed to operate. It’s not a bug, but a crucial feature: the zone needs a stable, one-time starting point.
Think of it like baking a sourdough loaf. You begin with an initial “starter” culture. This is your input on frame 1. To develop the dough over time, you don’t add a new starter every hour. Instead, you work with the dough that already exists, folding and shaping it as it evolves. The Simulation Zone works in precisely the same way. It reads the data connected to its main input sockets only on the first frame of the simulation. This is its initial state or its “starter.”
So, what is the solution...
