Building the robot
The strategy in the design of this decorator build is pretty straightforward. You require a design that can spin a round object to allow for your marker or pen to create smooth lines and designs. In order for this to happen, the robot build requires the following:
- It needs to be able to maintain a consistent speed of wheels.
- It needs to be adjustable to fit different sizes of objects.
- It needs to be smooth to keep objects from bouncing.
- It needs to be easy enough for any person or child to use.
By keeping these features in mind, you will understand why the frame and design is open, easily adjustable, and created in a way to quickly add and remove the object. While some additional building parts could have been added to make it more pleasing on the eye, following several test runs involving children, this version proved to be the easiest to use and manage.
Now that you understand the design goals, it is time to begin building the robot...
