Going linear with a bar gauge

The bar gauge panel has similar functionality to the gauge panel but produces its data in a substantially different form. It’s designed to produce either vertical or horizontal bars, whose full extent represents a maximum quantity, and the length of the rendered bar represents what proportion of the extent is covered by the value. Think of the fuel gauge in a car that maps some value between full and empty.

Exploring the bar gauge settings

Working with the bar gauge is not terribly different than working with the gauge or even the stat visualization. There are just three or four settings listed under the Bar gauge section:

  • Orientation: Sets the Vertical or Horizontal orientation. Auto switches between the two depending on the size of the panel.
  • Display mode: Sets the visual display, from a smooth Gradient to a segmented Retro LCD to a Basic colored bar.
