Exporting networks on the Web using Seadragon

In the previous chapters, we learned how to export a network or graph built in Gephi to a PDF, SVG, or PNG file. Sometimes, this type of export might not be useful. For instance, if one were to display the graph on a Web page, a better rendering mechanism than the static rendering offered by the PDF, SVG, or PNG format is required. Gephi Marketplace has a really good plugin to solve this problem. Seadragon is a plugin available on Gephi Marketplace that allows networks built in Gephi to be directly exported and used on a browser. Networks are exported as image tiles and this makes it very easy and convenient for someone to study them in detail. In this recipe, we will learn how to install and use this plugin.

Getting ready

In order to export a graph built in Gephi to a format that is directly consumable by a browser, the Seadragon plugin has to be installed first. The following steps illustrate how to install this plugin:
