In this chapter, we learned about dependency injection and why it is needed. Then, we looked into Angular's support for dependency injection. After that, we saw how to format/filter data using filters, and learned how to write custom filters. Then, we learned about promises and saw how the $http
service implements promises-based APIs. Finally, we looked at how the $resource
service is a higher level abstraction over the $http
service and how it makes calling RESTful services a breeze. Next, we'll learn how to make the UI more declarative using Angular directives.
