The structure of home automation systems


This section will give you a basic idea about home automation systems that are connected to the Internet. In the following picture you can see that the mobile phone and the IoT devices are connected to Internet via the LAN Routers:

We will also be doing something similar in this chapter using the BeagleBone board, connected to Internet via our home router, to control an AC bulb using the relay circuit which is interfaced with the BeagleBone board. To do this, we will have setup a webserver on our BeagleBone board. We will see how to do this in the next topic of this chapter.
