One of the main differences while doing web development between PHP and Ruby is that PHP is web-based out of the box, while Ruby is not. All PHP needs is a web server with PHP enabled and we’re good to go. For development, PHP even comes with an internal web server. On the other hand, Ruby requires the use of a framework to be able to use web protocols and tools. Ruby on Rails is not the only framework that we could use for web development, but it’s the most popular one. We will stick to Rails for web development. One of the most popular tools that’s used within web development is forms.
