Understanding the differences

We’ve listened to the client; we’ve figured out what the business processes are that they have, and now we’ve created examples in the demo environment to show what the system can do.

Note that, at this point, we’re using the demo environment from a deployment with the Contoso demo data. Depending on what the customer wants or needs, you could create a new legal entity and then use that as the basis of what you will build going forward. Make sure that you emphasize to the client that this is only a demonstration of what the SA thinks the company’s business processes are.

After we do the demo, the client says that the app doesn’t really work the way they want it to. So, we can do another activity to better understand what they have that is part of the system and what isn’t. This activity is called a fit/gap analysis.
