Business process optimization

One of the first tasks that needs to happen during the initiate phase of the project is mapping out all the business processes. Business process mapping represents all the steps that happen throughout a process. Baseline business processes are referred to as as-is processes. These could be legacy processes or newly defined ones. Many organizations will go through a business process modification project prior to implementing an ERP system. One of the more popular methods is called the Five Diamond Method.

The Five Diamond Method is a framework for explorative business process management that helps organizations identify and optimize their processes. The five steps of the Five Diamond Method are as follows:
