In this chapter, you created web services providing certain functionality to the outside world. You integrated Appian into an existing web service and got a good understanding of the protocols and data formats required to make this work.

Integrating services is always a challenge. Appian makes things comparatively simple, but never underestimate the basic complexity. If you have little experience with system integration, seek support from system administrators or IT architects.
