BlackBerry acquisition with Oxygen Forensic
Oxygen Forensic was described in Chapter 1, SIM Cards Acquisition and Analysis. In this chapter, the process of a logical copy of a BlackBerry mobile device data via Oxygen Forensic will be explained. A logical copy contains only certain types of logical data, such as phonebook, calls, messages (SMS, MMS), pictures, and video.
Getting ready
In order to extract data from a BlackBerry device, you need to install Blackberry Desktop Software (this program will be described later).
How to do it…
- In the Oxygen Forensic program, click the
Connect device
button located on the toolbar. It will launch Oxygen Forensic Extractor.
- Click
Device Acquisition
. The program will automatically search for the connected device. If the program recognizes it, then its properties are displayed in the program's window. If the device is not found, then using theManual device connection
